I never thought this would happen, but I actually forgot my LJ password. And for some reason I just couldn't be arsed to fix it. Lots of catching up to do, obviously, but, um. Hi!

Short personal update: I'm currently doing my internship at NodeOne and it's all kinds of awesome, I'm really liking it there. Will be graduating this spring, which is very much yay. Still not completely over stupid boy :/ (jesuschristcanitjustgoaway) but have met lots of interesting new people this year and that is helping a whole lot. Have tentative plans to move as soon as I get a job, and I think I may have reached the very surprising conclusion that I don't really want a new horse, at least not at the moment. o_O

Otherwise having a very boring Friday (alternating between being horrified about Japan and being bored out of my wits) and hence the fixing of the Great Password Problem of 2010-2011.

I have kind of fallen in love with Swedish band Norwood View, whose vocalist Erik is a classmate of mine. Pretty far removed from what I normally listen to, but - good. I LIKE.

Check them out: http://www.myspace.com/norwoodview (Avalon's been on repeat here for a few days now..)

They're also on Spotify (lookin' at you, [livejournal.com profile] mayatawi ) and on iTunes Store.

I owe emails ([livejournal.com profile] doctoraicha & [livejournal.com profile] soupytwist, I have half-finished ones for you both) and I will get there. But my brain is fried. Exam on Friday. Trying to learn EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW about... project management. PROJECT MANAGEMENT.

Yeah.

I'm off to Boston for a few days! :D:D.d

Flying via Iceland and I MEANT to contact [livejournal.com profile] hildigunnur and see if she wanted to hang out at the airport (WHAT. LOTS OF FUN, THAT.) or something for a little while, but I SUCK and FORGOT. I've been a little stressed. I had TWO passport scares. Tends to take your mind off of other things.

(passport now safely packed.)

EeeeEEEEEEEE!! :D:D:D:DD:Slkhs

I just had a wisdom tooth extracted, and while it didn't exactly hurt and was quick and went well and all that, I still DISLIKE the procedure. It was my second time, and - lucky me! - I have two more to look forward to.

So now I'm (1) swollen, (2) still numb, and (3) deathly afraid of the PAIN. Last time, I spend a few hours crying in bed, because the pain was so bad. I've already taken both ibuprofen (which dentist said was The Shit for tooth related pains) and paracetamol. I also have some leftover prescription painkillers ready, JUST IN CASE.

I shall now commence bed rest and fanfic reading. :D Bring it on, pain. I am ready.

I caught a cold a couple of days ago, spent yesterday in bed, yadda yadda... but now the back of my MOUTH is swollen, like the infection has spread from my throat (where it wasn't very aggressive at all) to the gums around my right upper jaw, mainly at the back.

The whole right side of my FACE is slightly swollen, but I don't think it's noticeable if you don't look too closely. But I can FEEL it.

And I only JUST managed to brush my teeth, because I can BARELY OPEN MY MOUTH ENOUGH TO GET THE TOOTHBRUSH IN.

On the plus side, it doesn't exactly HURT, except when I try to chew something. OTOH, I don't need to do much chewing since I can't open my mouth enough to get anything big enough to need chewing in there.

... also, it's apparently affecting my ability to use proper grammar.

I'll stop whining now.

So wish me a happy one, bitches.

That's pretty much all I have to say. As birthdays go, this one's been more on the boring side, but! I guess it's a true sign of age, but I'm TOTALLY FINE WITH THAT. I spent the morning on the couch watching old Guns n Roses live performances in YouTube, and it was so AWESOME in the "wow it feels good to do nothing at all" way.

Plus, Axl Rose wasn't half bad to look at in his younger days, so.

And then I did the dishes. Heh.

Plz to be aiding me in my laziness: rec me something. Whatever. A fic, a funny comic, a news story I shouldn't miss, a particularly funny fail from failblog, an entry of YOURS I should comment on.

I like Obama all right, so - but doesn't this feel a little... I don't know... premature? I mean, already? Initiative does not equal result, in my world. I just.. what? Hmm.

DONE.

I've been studying (or rather, fretting over the fact that I was NOT studying...) for an exam this past weekend, and today I took it. And it went ok. And I'm so relieved.

Evidently I'm so relieved that I just HAD to post about it.

RELIEEEEEF. Good feeling.

I ...

- forgot my lunch box at home.
- forgot my WALLET at home.
- thus resulting in NO LUNCH FOR ME.
- dropped my keys in a fountain while cleaning it.
- dropped my MOBILE PHONE in fountain. :O
- had to sit on my ass and be incredibly bored while previously mentioned fountain was refilled with fresh water, which only took about, oh, an eternity and a half. SRSLY. ARGH.
- was mocked by rude kids for sitting on my ass and doing nothing (how could they NOT SEE I WAS GUARDING THE HOSE, WTF?! Incredibly Important Job being done, here.)

Woe is me.

Finally!

Oh, you all, I am such a doofus.

I had the OH-SO-BRILLIANT idea to make cinnamon buns, but here I am now with a big fat DOUGH and no way to actually MAKE THE BUNS. Because I do not own a rolling pin. There must be something else I can use? Something cylindrical, but I cannot think of WHAT.

Any ideas?! I AM DESPERATE. Common household item... I tried a glass, but it's sort of cone shaped and it.. just didn't work...

Yay, 2008!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I got nice stuff (we do the present opening on the 24th in Sweden) and had a good time, la la, but. BUT. I am now catching up on Stargate Atlantis, because I finally have the TIME and my flat is fucking PRISTINE, and I am free to spend the day however I want to, and...

MAN, I have MISSED SGA. From Sheppard's first snarky line, I have been filled with JOY. This is the best Christmas present ever!

I know I'm a dork, shut up.

I have neither the means (no TV) nor the inclination to follow Swedish Idol, but a comment made on a forum I visit made me go youtube-ing for videos of the final three contestants. I didn't like any one of them very much. What I am wondering is WHY THE HELL THIS GUY is not one of them?!

Singing You're the Voice, Imagine, The Scientist, Grace Kelly, Baby one more time, Roxanne, Livin' on the Edge, I don't feel like dancing, a bad quality Live and Let Die, and California dreamin.

SERIOUSLY, SWEDISH PEOPLE. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. D: D: I especially like... okay, let me put it this way, Grace Kelly, The Scientist and Imagine were good, the others, I kind of almost loved. <3 Okay, so I especially liked his take on Baby one more time, he gave it a seriousness I didn't think it had.

<3 <3

The fan fiction thing? I kind of blew that, believe it or not. I had to use an article about real person fic written about a popular Swedish artist (another Idol contestant, heh) as a starting point, so I kind of went into bandslash (YEAH I KNOW WTF) and LotRiPS, and via a little side trip into Dan/Emma to Harry Potter and TV show fic. But I made the mistake of thinking I didn't have to really prepare this thing, as I know the subject inside and out, which meant I was kind of rambly and unfocused. >.< Teacher said that what I said was good, but it took me too long to actually say it, so I... passed. But that was it. Which kind of sucks, since I've got an A on everything else.

But that's irony for you! Scraping a pass the one time you actually know what you're talking about, and getting A's when you're just pulling things out of your ass.

Okay, okay

I just have to post about this because, guess what, guess what? Tomorrow, as part of a test, I am to give a presentation, and the topic that was given to me was...

FAN FICTION.

AHAHAHAHAHAH!

Now that my iTunes library is connected to decent speakers, I'm going through an Audioslave/Chris Cornell phase (with a leeetle bit of Soundgarden thrown in for good measure). GOD HIS VOICE. It's like. EARGASM.

I promise I'll stop spamming LJ with nonsense entries... soon. ish.
stereo_m: (headphones)
I am now wirelessly streaming music from my computer to my stereo.

This is BEYOND AWESOME.

And, also, um, thank you all for the comments on my entry about Plaisir. <3
